2for princess brides  Aug 31, 2009
This wedding planner book is perfect for a princess bride who cries at Lifetime movies and ideally, has an unlimited amount of time on her hands. For the rest of us, I'm not entirely sure that it is practical or workable. There are some good tips in there (such as how to create your own thank you notes inexpensively) but there are also some unreal suggestions about crafts (hot glue fake flowers to wooden napkin rings? really?). I'm a New York City girl and wouldn't even know where to go to find craft stuff, so it's not really for me. I did like the binder idea although it is not very sturdy but it does have little pockets for keeping stuff in. Plus the whole thing is hot pink and I don't think anyone will take me seriously if I show up with a frilly hot pink book with a big poofy bride on the cover.

I opened it and thereby couldn't return it, so will just hang on to it until one of my girlfriends who IS a princess gets engaged!

I bought this book for my sister who is about to get married and it is great. Has a great way to organize all your bridal needs!

1Less than cute  Jul 29, 2009
Right after I was engaged, my fiance and I raced out to purchase a planner a few months back. Since I didn't want to wait for a delivery I went to the local bookstore. Unfortunately, there were few to choose from, but I loved the look of the planner. I should've remembered the cliche saying, "don't judge a book by it's cover." After flipping through the pages today I realized how useless the book is for the pre-planning. For the beginning, I'm more interested in finding a venue, picking colors, budget tips, and attire to name a few. The book really focuses on the day of the wedding, invitations, and engagement party, bridal shower, etc. The book lacks a lot of information and isn't helpful for a bride during the current times, especially the bad economic times. I came across "Your Personal Wedding Planner" by Jo Anna Zaffree. I heard her on a podcast a couple days ago and regret not buying her book. Zaffree strongly focuses on how to budget during planning stages and even provides a page to post a picture of your dress! I highly recommend Zaffree's book to brides. Steer clear of "Tying the Knot."

5Tying The Knot-Great Help  May 09, 2009
I bought this after I had started planning and I had papers strung out all over the house. It really helped me put everything together and keep track of what I didn't or hadn't thought of. I would reccommend it to anyone.

3Fun and functional, but not neccessary  Apr 06, 2009
This was fun to have, but after you write in it you start to realize you don't really need to buy an organizer, you can make one yourself. But if you're like me and just want it done already, this works. The pro: three ring binder, I can move and add stuff easily. The con: It's a soft binder, so you need a hard surface to write on easily.
