Fantastic from Beginning to End Sep 18, 2000
By Marcia L. Hopkins Whirlwind Wedding kept me stuck like glue to my sofa for two days while I read this great new book from Jacquie D'Alessandro from cover to cover.Austin Jamison, the hero in the book, starts out as a somewhat dark and stubborn guy with a family secret that's weighing heavily on him. It doesn't take Elizabeth Matthews, our heroine, long to start effecting Austin in ways he never thought possible. This book has everything I look for and want in a romance novel. It has the romance, of course, but it also has mystery, a great deal of humor and a surprise ending. Some of the funniest stuff I have read in a long time is about the kittens whose names are hysterically Gadzooks, Egad, Balderdash, Damn It All, and Bloody Hell. Ms. D'Alessandro has a fantastic sense of humor and amused me continually through the entire story. The twist of Elizabeth having the gift of sight is an interesting twist and was used cleverly in this story. I hope we can look forward to another book about Austin's brother, Robert. Ms. D'Alessandro's last two books, Kiss the Cook a contemporary romance and Red Roses Mean Love an historical romance, were both excellent and highly recommended. Whirlwind Wedding is better yet and I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance, a good mystery plot and the added bonus of a good laugh out loud!

A cheerful and sunny book that will make you feel good!! Sep 19, 2000
By Guppie Whirlwind Wedding is a light Regency romance in the style of Julia Quinn. This book is so easy and fun to read you will want to finish it in one day! Elizabeth and Austin are wonderful together. Elizabeth is fun and has a devil may care attitude. Austin is a bit arrogant but very protective and very male. They are well supported with great secondary characters. The big misunderstanding, so typical in romance, is hardly present in this lovely book. The author threw in a secondary romance as well between the sister and the best friend of Austin which gives the book a nice extra. For Regency romance lovers who enjoy a laugh out loud read with wonderful down to earth characters, Whirlwind Wedding is a must!

Better and Better Sep 14, 2000
By Marcia L. Hopkins Ms. D'Alessandro has written a winner with Whirlwind Wedding. Her first book, Red Roses Mean Love, was extraordinary! Her recent contemporary novel, Kiss the Cook, is a light hearted, amusing and thoroughly enjoyable story. But Whirlwind Wedding shows that Ms. D'Alessandro is indeed getting better and better with each book she writes. In WWW the main characters, Elizabeth and Austin, come to life early in the book and I found Elizabeth to be intelligent, funny and feisty. Austin is stubborn, of course, but endearing as he learns that Elizabeth is not intimidated by him or his title and isn't trying to win him over. The names for the kittens, Gadzooks, Egad, Fiddlesticks, et al... and how they came to be named is hilarious. Elizabeth and Austin have a running "language" joke (she being American, he English) that is funny, true to life and natural. Although the book is very amusing throughout, there is a fascinating mystery in the plot that kept me intrigued until the very end. Bravo Jacquie! WWW has it all, humor, mystery, great lovable characters and a surprise ending!

If you like to laugh & cry while you enjoy a book then this is the book for you! Austin is a Duke to die for & Elizabeth is an American woman with a vision! Actually several visions! She drops into Austin's life & turn's everything he's ever felt into something he never dreamed of! Elizabeth is a breath of fresh air in Austin's stuffy world & helps him overcome the guilt & troubles shadowing his family. As always in Jacquie's books the secondary characters are just as fun to get to know & you wish that they had their own books. This story has the sexual tension that makes you feel like you were already there by the time they are! *G* This is a good thing & Jacquie doesn't make us wait to long to join the fun! I have loved EVERYTHING that Jacquie has written, Contemporary & Historical she is a fresh new talent & we are so lucky that there are publishers out there who still know a GREAT book when they read it!

First but not last Oct 06, 2000
By Nothing But the Best This book was the first I've read by D'Alessandro, and I was extremely pleased - it won't be the last! The characters are well developed and truly compelling. They are funny, passionate, and the author truly convinces you that the heroine's 6th sense is believable. I am not a fan of supernatural or paranormal novels, however the "gift of vision" given is this book was well done. The secondary characters are as fun and real as the primary ones, which helps hold the storyline together. The plot moves along at an enjoyable pace and it was a refreshing change how these two characters end up meeting, marrying and "learning" to love each other - nothing abrupt or coy about it! I enjoyed it and think others will as well.
